Meet Avellana!

Don't let the number 12 fool you. Avellana, or Avi to her friends, has places to go, walks to take, and adventures waiting for her!

This 40-pound Hound/Husky mix is sweet, playful, loyal, and full of energy. Avi loves long walks, soft toys, treats, and being wherever her favorite person happens to be. She's even ready to hit the trails and would make a great companion for some low-key hiking.

Avi also has plenty to say. She loves to bark, howl, and "talk," and if you start howling, there's a good chance she'll join right in. When she's not serenading her humans, one of her favorite activities is rolling onto her back and wiggling around.

Avi is housebroken, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, sleeps through the night, and, in a move that may impress some households, doesn't get on the furniture! She does well with other dogs, although she may also be happy as your one and only.

Avi would love a home with a fenced yard and someone who wants an active companion. She can be anxious when left alone and would prefer a family that's home most of the time. And because Avi believes in expressing herself vocally, apartment and townhouse living aren't for her.
