Claire's BIO:
Claire is a tiny, furniture-scaling woodland sprite, who moves through the house almost exclusively by launching herself from one surface to another. She drifts across the living room by hopping from couch to chair to ottoman with the confidence of something that has absolutely never paid a bill in its life, and at this point we think weve got to accept the possibility that somewhere in her family tree there was at least one cat.
Claire arrived painfully bony and obviously very hungry, which means meal times have become especially exciting. She has been hard at work on gaining weight. We appreciate her dedication.
Claire is good on the leash and in the car. She can be left loose in the house when on her own without destroying anything (although she may use that time for creative parkour or yodeling the song of her people). Claire came in with some masses on her mammary glands and rear end but they don't appear to need any medical care at this time. She can see and hear well and is fine going up and down the stairs.
Claire would love for her new home to have another dog, a fenced yard, people that are home most of the time, a spot in her human's bed at night, and tons of snuggles and snacks. She prefers a quiet home (loud voices make her want to flee). She is very sweet, smart, and easy to correct. She would do great with someone that wants to dote on her and maybe even take her places. She does not love her mani-pedis but is otherwise cooperative.
She is working on her housetraining skills, but it's still a work in progress. She is somewhat potty pad trained, but in her fuzzy brain, other things (like rugs) are basically big potty pads. She may benefit from the use of a diaper in addition to the potty pads, at least until she gets the hang of it a little better.
If your home could use some excitement and gymnastics, plus the love of a tiny, fuzzy friend, it's time to come meet Claire!
Claire is approx 10 years old and 9 lbs.
Fostered in Rockville, MD.
