Edgar's beloved owner was unfortunately obliged to move into assisted living, where Edgar could not follow. Edgar was understandably pretty sad and confused when he arrived at Miri's. He’s been getting plenty of cuddles, taking everything in, and slowly settling down with the Haven crew. He has gone to great lengths to make sure we knew he could sing the song of his people loudly. He is now in the market for a soft landing, where he can once again enjoy the attention, affection, and excellent care to which he has become accustomed.

Edgar is a delightful family member. He gets along with other dogs and cats, although he is also happy to be the only pet. He can be with older children, as long as they respect his right to nap undisturbed and give him plenty of cuddles. He is housetrained, good on the leash, and generally sleeps quietly through the night. He doesn't require that much in the way of exercise and is an A+ snuggler. He is very friendly and affectionate, and has pipes that rival Celine Dion.

Edgar loves getting attention and being with his people. He would love taking lots of short walks. A fenced-in yard would be wonderful for him. He doesn't love the car -- it makes him a little anxious. But, some car snuggles and treats can go a long way to making him feel better. He would probably be happiest as the only pet although he could live with dogs who will respect his space. He does enjoy stealing other dogs' food when they aren't watching.

Edgar has a bit of a heart murmur but nothing that requires medication right now. He also has some arthritis which may benefit from medication or supplements. He can hear well; while his vision isn't perfect, it's good enough to get around and enjoy his walks and sniffaris. He can go up a few stairs but finds a whole staircase a bit daunting.

If you have a lap that needs warming and enjoy some vigorous singing, Edgar is for you.
