Isadora's BIO:
Isadora had a loving family for 15 years. And then she was surrendered to a rural shelter when her family decided they no longer had time for her. We welcomed her to the Haven with open arms and told her that she matters. Some lucky family will give her all the time and love she needs, and she will return it triplefold.
Having experienced abandonment, Isadora likes to keep a close eye on her humans and does not want to be left home alone. She's taking some anti-anxiety medications to help her feel more comfortable in her new world.
As someone experienced with living in a family, Isadora is move-in ready. She walks well on the leash, is housetrained, and sleeps peacefully through the night in her human's bedroom. She would do best in a home that is adults only or older children who will respect her space and naptimes.
Isadora likes her known routines. She loves to have her human home with her and will independently hang out in any room on a comfortable dog bed, but regularly comes to check that her person is still there. She likes to be approached calmly and gently. She loves ear and butt scratches and staring gently into your eyes,. hoping to communicate that she wants some treats.
Isadora may have some hearing reduction, but she can still hear the refrigerator opening from a few rooms away. She can handle a limited number of stairs, but her back legs are somewhat stiff, so a whole flight might be a challenge.
Isadora is approx 15 years old and 15 lbs.
Fostered in Alexandria, VA
