Shadow's BIO:
Meet Shadow! Shadow came to the Haven when a new member of the household turned out to be allergic to him. He knows all about life in a home and is ready to find a new human to follow around in his shadowy way.
Shadow gets along with other dogs and older kids. He walks nicely on the leash and is comfortable going for car rides. He can be left home alone without getting into mischief. He is housebroken, although he may benefit from having potty pads or belly bands when he is transitioning to his forever home.
Shadow has somewhat restricted vision and is currently using eye drops, but he's a good sport about taking them, and loves to get little pieces of apple for his reward. He has a luxetting patella, but the vet is not recommending surgery at this time. He may benefit from pain medication in the future, and he is not much for stairs. He also may have some skin allergies, and we are working on making dietary changes to address them.
He enjoys sitting on his person's lap outside, sniffing around the yard, his bed and blanket. He doesn't love being picked up but will tolerate it as needed to be relocated up/down stairs or whatnot. When it's close to meal time he will let you know by staring at you and making noises. And he will tilt his head when you talk to him, so you know he's listening carefully.
Shadow is a sweet boy who is eager to find a family to share his twilight years. He will give you all the love in his tiny body. Come meet him soon.
Shadow is approximately 13 years old and 11 lbs.
Fostered in Hampstead, MD.
